Friends are the Best Medicine!

Let's talk pre-kids and post- kids and how are lives change. I mean honestly could you not write a novel about that! Well I could. Let's paint the picture- Pre-baby Lynette- she wore business suits, worked for one of the big 4 accounting firms, her clients included a movie theatre company, a titanium maker, and a pet food distributor. That's right I got to do amazing things like tour a wet dog food plan- Don't be jealous! She did not cook (oh wait- I still don't!), she had frizzy hair (oh wait still have that one), she worked on average 15 hours a day and thought that it was totally normal to do that- WHO WAS THIS PERSON!

Post-baby Lynette- She has traded the suits for some nice Ann Taylor Loft and Old Navy attire (is Ann Taylor Loft dorky? hmm maybe), her clients now include a superstar crooner (Michael of course), a escape artist dog (yep looked for her for TWO hours this morning!) and a white hair little repeater (is that a phase to repeat everything- he even laughs when others are laughing and he has no clue why he is laughing!). But the most important thing about post baby (warning- sappy language ahead) is that Lynette has a softer heart, a sweeter demeanor and seriously some of the best friends in the world. I have awesome awesome college friends (Katie Couric and Samantha from Sex in the City- just to name a few) and now my mommy friends have been my refuge. That was increasingly more evident last night at Girls Night Out- it feels like a good workout- you just feel refreshed. I mean we no doubt always shut the place down and only with mommy friends can you tak about crazy husbands (Michael included although he does sing a sweet little tune), Teresa's husband's football schedule- that's right Juciy Joey also dabbles in a little football, Kelly Ripa's impending second Mouseketeer arrival, Brie (Desp. Housewives) and her amazing little tutoring business (hmmm what is she really tutoring in?) and of course Charolette's (Sex in the City) clogged milk machine.

I really am blessed to have these girls come into my life. Not even all of them were there either! You know celebrities have busy lives- I mean just the other day Jessica Simpson ran into Jennifer Aniston and a huge fight ensued over John Mayer and I had to remind them- Ladies- John is not even in this script! All was settled and Jess went home to Nick and Jenn to Bradley.

Sometimes its easy to feel sorry for yourself- happens to me all the time- Michael's tour, Michael's crazy fans- I mean what is a poor girl to do but there is nothing like your friends to whip you back to reality and show you just how lucky we all are! I mean not everyone has friends, black AMEX cards and botox parties like we do! I even thought about buying a bunch of BFF necklaces (you know the heart ones where you each take a half) and giving them to the girls- would that be weird- wearing like 20 of them? Love you girls- now get out of my way- I want to make sure the paparazi gets pics for next weeks US Weekly- Mama needs some new shoes (and Old Navy is having a crazy sale!)
